As a photographer, foremost, the sun is just the best 😎

Now, when I say it’s the best, it’s actually not the case when I’m doing landscapes or moody scenes, but it is for commercial photography; it’s amazing as everything looks great with sunshine on it. Imagine having the front of your building photographed on a rainy day: it doesn’t exactly encourage people to come and visit you, but a beautiful sunny day with trees and flowers in bloom does. So, if you will take anything away from that, get your outside photos done or at least planned NOW!

When the weather wasn't so nice, for the first few days of this month, I finished building a couple of Lego sets (below), The Office and Seinfeld.  Both of these are going to be merged into one big studio edition (when I get some spare time, which might have to be in the Winter now 😳)

How Waitrose Won the British Summer with a weather-reactive ad campaign

This is a case study done by Google, and I think its worth a read, mainly because it gets you to think outside the box and ask the question  What can I do differently with my marketing?

This is actually quite therapeutic, taking all the little foam pieces out to match your equipment. ☺️

It's all about lights, coloured lights. Sometimes, you just need a little coloured light to make all the difference.

We have the slider going on the camera and the turntable going on the product, all to make an amazing video.

This month's Landscape

Poppies, Poppies Poppies'

The magnificent brightness and contrast of the Blackstone poppies in Bewdley bring the promise that summer is well and truly on its way.

This was taken a few years ago when I realised I actually wanted a poppy picture after stubbornly refusing to go and take one, ‘as everyone else takes them’ 🤦

Oh, another favourite photo!

This is a throwback photo to the L’Oreal Colour Trophy Awards. You have no idea how long I waited for that hair to be finished to perfection 😳
