| | It’s been a month of travel 🚀I would like to say that I’ve been working hard every working day, but even as I write this at the end of the month, I’m sitting in a hotel room after spending the daytime wandering over the Derbyshire Dales. Wales has also featured quite a bit for me this month, capturing the last days of the Autumn trees before it is well and truly winter (Luckily I think I just about managed to do that). Autumn always seems to come and go so fast that I almost miss it each year! 🤦 | | | |

| | | | BIPP PodcastI belong to the British Institute of Professional Photography, and they decided to start a podcast aimed at commercial photographers, asking me to join as one of the experts passing on their knowledge every month. So far, one podcast has been created, and the next will be recorded before the end of this month. It has been great to have another outlet to pass on knowledge and encourage the next generation of photographers. | | | |

| | | | 'The Dirty Negative'It seems like the month for podcasts, and this time, ‘The Dirty Negative’ (there is nothing rude with it, btw) is a podcast that Lewis James Phillips and I host, with the first season of 6 episodes having been released. In each episode, we interview a well-known photographer and try to get their insights so that they can help you on your journey (if you’re a photographer that is). Oh, and we also have a little bit of banter along the way 😝 | |

| | | | I bought the Remarkable Pro (so you didn’t have to)So I love my tech (just a little bit 🫣), and after sending back the Remarkable 2 with its keyboard because, well, you can watch that here: https://youtu.be/gNeAQWVT5DQ I decided to try the new and improved version and I must say, it’s highly improved and really nice to use. However, I’m not convinced it’s worth the price unless you love precise machinery and premium products (which I sort of do 😬)

| | | There is actually a watch in the picture. The camera is in there as well. We bounce the light into that box, and the box lights the watch. That way, it’s a beautiful soft light. | | | |

| | | | Air Fryers Spying on youSo The Times reported that Air Fryers are spying on you! Well, to be precise, not the actual Air Fryer but the app that the Air Fryer uses, which asks to record audio and apparently sends it to China.
What I don’t get is the amount of data they would have to go through to find something useful, and also, if you are someone who has something useful to say, then you probably have enough money to have someone else cooking for you. 🤔 I know it's very loosely tech-related, but I thought you might find it interesting. | | | |

| | | | Oh, another favourite product photo! So can you guess what this item is used for? Well I didn’t know at first either and the client had to tell me as all my guesses were WRONG! It’s used in sinks in commercial kitchens so that food waste doesn’t go down the plug hole and block up the drains but it does allow water to filter through once it rises. It gave me the idea for having water on the product during the shoot and yes, we did do product shots with it in the sink, I just like this one with a steel mesh backdrop, smoke and blue lights in the background. | | | |
