Making the effort 💪

I set myself the goal of getting up at sunrise a few times this month to go and 'chase the light’ - yes, that’s a thing us photographers do. A few of the images are below, and the rest have been put into the street photography section of my website.

Oh, one of the reasons I do this is that it keeps me out of my comfort zone and honed for spotting 'the shot’.

What do you do to keep yourself at the top of your game?

It's easier than ever to uncensor videos.

Have you ever considered how quickly one can de-pixelate or remove censorship from video footage? Level 2 Jeff's YouTube challenge showcased how rapidly this can be done using the appropriate data and a neural network. It’s quite alarming how effortless it seems.

A day with the QBD team

QBD, Worcestershire's leading full-service digital marketing agency, was looking to refresh their asset bank of images, and they wanted to include some pictures of themselves. So they got the whole team together for a fun day in front of the camera!

The Action Figure Trend

The recent trend of using AI to generate graphic action figures of oneself has quickly captured widespread attention, becoming a popular form of digital self-expression. Individuals are using AI tools to transform their photos into stylised, toy-like renderings, often presented in nostalgic packaging reminiscent of classic action figures. This digital trend plays on the desire for personalised online identities and taps into a sense of playful self-representation.

From a marketing standpoint, this offers intriguing possibilities. Brands can leverage this by creating AI-generated graphic action figures of influencers for engaging social media content, fostering a more personal connection with audiences. Imagine a fitness influencer depicted as an action figure with workout accessories, or a chef with miniature culinary tools. Furthermore, businesses could allow consumers to generate their own graphic action figures as part of interactive campaigns, enhancing brand engagement and shareability. The unique and visually appealing nature of these AI-generated graphics makes them highly shareable on social media platforms, potentially leading to organic viral marketing. This trend underscores the increasing consumer demand for personalised digital content and experiences, suggesting a fertile ground for innovative marketing strategies centred around AI-powered digital avatars.

Given the abundance of content in these newsletters, along with some insightful advice, I believed it was time to establish a section where you can revisit past editions during your moments of procrastination.

Just a few photos from on location so that you can have a peep into my world.

Okay, shameless photo of an article I wrote for the Hereford and Worcester Chamber of Commerce magazine on using video in recruitment.

Building boats. Okay, so this was part of a client's toolkit they send to customers when looking at LEAN thinking. I actually managed to build it with 1 (maybe 0) mistakes (the second time).

Tech Hack 💻

So if you use LinkedIn for sales (which you should use if your business is B2B), this will let you hide your contacts from your contacts, stopping people from connecting with you to see all your clients and suppliers.

This month's Landscape

Day Off'

This was an early morning (in summer) to capture sunrise whilst away in Dungeness in Kent. Apart from a nuclear power station, there wasn’t much else for the family to see whilst there 😳 There’s a whole story about that, just ask next time you see me 😬

Oh, another favourite photo!

This model was a scaled-down version made for the MOD to take on tour worldwide to sell the real deal.

I was capturing the details for the model maker before his creations left him for their tour. This was the only one I was allowed to show because the others were not released.

I couldn’t believe the detail in this model, which was about 3 feet long.
